The
article Lighting up Cells with Quantum Dots, by Watson et
al., gives a brief history of the subject, explains the physics
and chemistry of use of quantum dots, and shows some nice
examples. It was published in 2003 by people from the Quantum
Dot Corporation.
Quantum Dots get Wet by Seydel (2003) is a brief account of
quantum dots in Science.
Water Soluble Quantum Dots... by Larson et al. from Cornell (2003) is
a more technical discussion in Science.
Fluorescent Toolbox for Assessing Protein Location ... by Giepmans et
al., from UCSD (2006) is a more comprehensive discussion, covering other
methods as well as quantum dots.
