Biography

I was born in 1977 in Helsingfors, Finland, where I attended the University of Helsinki, studying physics, theoretical physics and astronomy at the Department of Physics. I received my M.Sc. in 2000, after which I took up postgraduate studies as research assistant at the Helsinki Institute of Physics. In December 2002, I defended my Ph.D. thesis in hadronic physics, "Strong and electromagnetic transitions in heavy-flavor mesons".

Starting in 2003, I stayed for two years as an EURIDICE fellow at the Theoretical High Energy Physics Group of the Department of Theoretical Physics at Lund University, Sweden. In the fall of 2005, I took up a postdoctoral position for one year at HISKP of Bonn University, Germany. I moved to Seattle in August 2006, joining the Nuclear Theory Group of the Department of Physics at the University of Washington as a postdoc.
