Prof young,
My name is Andrew Harris. I am enrolled in your Physics of Sports
class this quarter. I just have a few questions. During this quarter
will we cover swimming? I am a swimming coach right now, and have been
for four years. I coach a local summer-league swim team (in the Midlakes
Swim League) and have also coached for USS in the area (WAVE Swim Team).
I competed in swimming for 12 years. I would very much like to put
physical principles to common techniques I teach to my swimmers each
summer. And I would also like to refine my knowledge in order to help
teach improved techniques. I do have a very little amount of knowledge
concerning some biomechanics of swimming, but am curious to learn even
more.

PS. In your introduction your sample questions include a question
concerning the sculling technique for freestyle swimmers. Sculling is
also the basis for the arm stroke in the backstroke and butterfly, not
just the crawl.
