PACS has one or two on-site spares to be able to swap out the machines
without going through Dell support channels. In addition, these
machines carry 4 year gold warranties and we outsource the hardware
debugging to the Computer Maintenance Group. This saves PACS and the
departments both money and time.
If your research needs drive you to purchase alternative architectures
or brands, PACS only requires the following in order to support them:
- Minimum four year, next business day (NBD) warranty on the
desktop
- CPU, motherboard, RAM, power supply, hard drive, video
card, etc.
- Minimum one year warranty (NBD) on the monitor
