The Particle Theory Journal Club is a series of weekly talks, generally given by graduate students and aimed at graduate students. A particular focus is chosen each quarter. Students who will be giving talks should register for 2 credits of Ph 582; students who will only be attending should register for 1 credit of Ph 582. It is held every Friday at 2:30 in Rm C421 of the Physics/Astronomy Building. Practice talks for students are typically held each Wednesday at 4:30 in Rm B405.
Craig Hogan is teaching a cosmology course (PHYS 555) concurrently with this journal club, and many of the references are the same. The standard reference is Trodden and Carroll, "TASI Lectures: Introduction to Cosmology" (astro-ph/0401547), and any standard GR text.
